Kampung Tekek is the most important location in Tioman, not only because it is the largest village in Tioman but also because of its role as the administrative center for the island. As an important area, Kampung Tekek has perfect facilities. Among them are immigration offices, banks, government buildings, schools, clinics, mosques, dining outlets and more. In addition, Kampung Tekek is also the main entry point to Tioman either by sea or air transport.
The more reason you spend most of this time in the village is that here you can shop for a variety of items including home and clothing needs, why? Since Pulau Tioman also holds the status as a Tax Duty-FreeDuty-Free since 2002, do not want to let go so far?
Essentially a town, there is much urban infrastructure, including retail shops, bank, highway, airport, marina and jetty complex. While lacking natural beauty of smaller villages, Tekek is still popular among visitors for its wealth of modern facilities and duty-free shopping. A cluster of hotels lies along the southern beach stretch, providing mostly budget accommodation in chalets. The marine park is the only snorkeling ground here, but there is a major beach area at the resort stretch.
